Agree. You can throw in the Kaw ZZR-1200 in that group, too. One of the
reasons I did not get the ZZR is the rated 145 hp (though it appealed to me
more the Yamaha or Honda). I get in enough trouble with the hp on my ST.
Also, I traded a Goldwing for the ST. Trading a Goldwing for an FJR or
ST1300 was too close in weight and overall size for my tastes. I wanted to
feel the wind for a change. Granted, the Wing is easier by far to ride in
the winter, but I didn't get much of a motorcycle experience from it. There
were a number of reasons of course, but I won't bother going into them.
