Last month, I did the same sort of trip that you did - over the Oxley
and down to the Putty Rd - and averaged about 20 to 21 km per
litre......yes, they do have impressive economy!!

On my recent tour (recently serviced bike [20K km service], no pillion,
soft
panniers and tank bag, open roads, smooth and reasonable solo-pace c.
100-140 kph with very little stopping/traffic) I averaged 55 mpg
(british
gallon). Best was 63 mpg while scrubbing-in new rear tyre. Wow! I'm
impressed. Either that or I've cocked the measurements/calculations up?
