RE: [ST] stock lights/ MOTOLIGHTS

The stalk-less option is from Moto-Light. I had them installed by
Moto-Light at their tent at the Americade Expo in Lake George, NY (all sorts
of manufacturers were at the expo selling their products). They have both
options currently - with and without the stalks. The "limitation" of the
stalk-less install is that the lights cannot be adjusted for width - they
can only be adjusted up and down. But I think they are just fine in terms
of width coverage as-is. The wiring is extremely clean. There is a rocker
switch installed up by the cockpit, and the lights turn off with the bike
(so you cannot accidentally kill the battery), and they work with both high
and low-beams on. They throw a massive amount of light. I forget the
wattage, but I opted for the higher wattage (there are two options). I can
look up the wattage if anyone is really interested.

I will send some pictures of the lights off-list to anyone that wants to
see. Just let me know.

Matt, thanks for this info. I was not aware there is a 'non-stalk' mounting
option. I've always thought MotoLIghts were a add-on/accessory that really
made a lot of sense and cost-wise were very justifiable. But that stem
setup kept me away. I have seen some pretty cobby installations with wires
exposed etc. And those silver retaining bands don't look too slick, IMO. I
am very interested. I know you can't send attachments (picture) to liST
but you can send them individually & off list to interested parties like
myself. If you get a chance........

Do you know if this new stemless setup is MotoLights 'factory' or something
they came up with where you bought them?

Thanks,
John
