Re: [ST] oil consumption/troubled relationship

I have heard it said that they should not use any oil,
I still love this bike but Im afraid to wear her out
before shes paid for. I would like to keep her and
keep thinking that I should have another bike for the
long trips to save milage on my loved ST. I cheated on
her and spent a few quality moments with a BMW R1150GS
Adventure, I came VERY close to trading her in and
finishing my trip abord the BMW. I could not quite get
myself to let her go but the BMW fits me as if I had
designed it myself.

I was still a little frustrated from almost dropping
my loved ST in my Mothers driveway on 2 occasions this
trip (3 miles long and very rough). I think my touring
needs have evolved to where I need something with off
road capabilities. I drove by alot of roads in the
black hills that I would have loved to follow.
but I love her so (the ST--hehe) so unless she gives
me a good reason to trade her in, like engine wear,
then I will wait until I can afford to marry another
bike outright. I already have the next one picked
out!!
