Re: [ST] Fuel Fittings

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure if the fitting from the kit is really BSPT or just NPT. Both
are 1/2 inch and 14 threads per inch. I got the threads cleaned up, but it
only went in maybe a quarter inch. This seems to be a common issue, which
in my opinion "just ain't right" if you know what I mean. I'm going to test
the fitting to see how it fits on NPT. If it does I'm going to run a 1/2"
NPT tap through it. Might take the 90 degree elbow out too and replace it
with brass if the tap business works out. Again, the problem is that you
have plastic fittings are put in with permanent loctite and I'm sure it will
brake. Not worried about it breaking, just the crud that could get into the
fuel pump or pressure regulator (already have that off to keep it clean).

This is the National Bureau of Standards model for a "bolt on" kit for
motorcycles. Used to tell my friends, "I can fix anything, I work on
motorcyles." :-) It sure is a lot better now than it used to be but this
"kit" is a thow back to the bad old days.

Happy Holidays,
Rod
