While I deeply respect your SO's right to her own opinion, I must question 
ANY issue she feels so important as to override the "right to ride".  Jeez, 
if we do not have THAT basic right, then what else is there?  Well, short of 
racing issues.  But, if racing on a closed course is her (anyone's) "only" 
issue, then we are doomed as a sport in general.

I, personally, covet the right to ride on public roads, long distance with 
no restrictions (short of those imposed on all other travellers).  Yeah, I 
stretch the limits now and then (as you do to, no doubt).  But to 
voluntaraly segment motorcyclists, as your SO seems to be doing does nothing 
but serve those who would outlaw our activity outright.

Elitism serves no purpose but to fragment the resolve of the bigger group, 
resulting in the demise of us all.  Please relay this to your SO.

So, we are at a point where your SO's specific concerns ARE of importance.  
What exactly are they?  I would welcome the chance to addess them.

And as an aside, Charlie, I have come to know you from this list as a 
competent rider and level headed guy.  I ain't tryin' to start a flame out 
here, just get the facts out in the open.
