Paul,
Heated grips are fine for when the temp is cool (not cold) and you just need
a little warming-up so your fingers can work the controls.  Heated grips
wiill not take care of the icy wind blast hitting the backs of your hands.
There's nothing like toasty warm Gerbing heated gloves.
