Re: [ST] 99 ST engine needed

Richard, I believe a salvage license is necessary. At least it is in Georgia.
There are usually scheduled monthly auctions at established auctioneers.
You may check with the state department of motor vehicles or independent
bike shops to find where these auctions are held. Perhaps someone over at
MR Honda could give you a lead on auctioneers in your area.
I have seen some very good deals on lightly damaged sport bikes at auction.
A 2001 GSXR750 with upper fairing, bracket and left faring and tail damage
went for
$3400. It was totalled for a small crease in the frame, where the left
upper faring
was pushed into the frame rail. Any frame damage at all, is a "total" for
companies
like GEICO. As bikes get lighter, the level of damage is greater. When you
get a chance,
take a look at a frame rail casting on the new Suzuki SV series. Different.

good luck,
lloyd
