RE: [ST] Front mudguard extension

I was surprised to hear that. I had been thinking that a mudguard would
protect the paint as well. Guess it would have to go to the ground to do
that.

Does anyone know of a Plexiglas-type of protector that you can use to
protect the painted area underneath the radiators? Because of the snow we
have had in recent weeks I have put off riding because of the sand, salt,
crud on the roads. I just had to get in a ride the other day so I took a
plastic document protector, slit the sides, then taped it to the painted
area.

Good thing. The road crud shredded the plastic at the folded seam, but the
whole works (now two pieces) held together well enough for that one ride
(approx 50 miles). The paint job was none the worse for wear, but I'll not
take that chance again.

I don't want 3M Film (had that on my Goldwing). I would like something I
can snap/screw on/off easily, inexpensive so I can have two or three on
hand, and I want it to cover all the painted area behind the front wheel
and several inches to either side.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
James
