RE: [ST] Exhaust bolt

Barry

Sorry to Hear that mabe it was lucky I did not go for a ride with you I
might of got hit by a flying Bolt.

Seriously though has the bolt actually sheared or just come loose.
Or is it the origional bolt and has not been replaced with a low tensile and
been over tensioned or the origional could also have been over tensioned.

Are you going to the CC on friday night again I will have a look at it if
you still have the bolt and can give you a opinion there.

Rob

Barry I am still finishing the details on the trip to philip island and will
email them to you as soon as I have them done.

Subject: [ST] Exhaust bolt

Was out on Sunday and heard a bang from the rear end while on a straight
flat road at c. 100 km. Thought it was a flat, but it turned out to be the
bolt that secures the exhaust can to the right pillion footpeg shearing off!
Has this happened to anyone else? The bike is only 2.2 years/10,000 km old.
Possible causes? Do you have to remove the can for a rear tyre change? Cos I
had one fitted c. 2000 km earlier.
Thanks,
Barry
