Re: [ST] Oring throttle lock

I wasn't able to find a convenient source for either of the big O-rings
mentioned below, but I looked up 'hydraulics' in the yellow pages and came
up with a hydraulic seal specialist. They were able to supply me with an
O-ring that has an inside diameter of 1.25" and a cross-section size of
.275". I also tried one with an ID of 1.5" and found that it was too big to
fit tightly over the grip/bar-end gap. I haven't had an opportunity to test
much yet, but so far it seems like it will do the job -- it sure is a fat
sucker though. I plan to do the bard-end bevel mentioned below to allow the
O-ring to grip a bit better and I'm hoping this makes it easier to position.

Since I don't do THAT much touring, I'm much more comfortable with the buck
that it cost me versus forking out all that coin for the Throttlemeister.
The Throttlemeister is a very nice piece, but too rich for my blood.

For what it's worth, the part number was 568-400, but I don't know if this
will mean much to most suppliers, particularly south of the 49th.
