Just get a new battery. Your troubles will be over. I base this advice on 
personal experience, and also a folder I got from the Motorcycle Towing 
Service in Las Vegas that I used to belong to. They listed a number of the 
most frequent complaints they received from people stuck in the middle of 
nowhere with a non-starting bike: "The whole electronics system is screwed 
up" "The starter is shot" "The kick-stand cut-out switch is jammed" et 
bleeding cetera. The actual problem, in all cases, and the most frequent 
reason they are asked for a rescue: a bad battery. Dave Collins, San Diego
