I was so bent on getting the grips until I read a
number of problem installations. I was still
considering them when I got a nice gift of gerbing
heated gloves and temptroller. I dont have the vest so
running the wires up the sleev takes an extra moment
in the morning. The 25 mile (45 min--1hr) early
morning commute is a bit more comfortable.
I tried grips on a friends bike but the backs of my
hands were still a little cold. The grips are a bit
cheaper than the glove/thermostat combo as I
understand it. If you ride all year as I do, like
every day....... see if you can try both before
deciding on one.
My thumbs can still get a little cool but I ride in
the very wettest, coldest (and hottest) weather
western WA can throw at me. If theres no significant
ice, Im doin' it.
A cold wet ride is still better than a warm dry drive.
