Oh, that's too good. Got a good belly laugh out of that one. Just what I
wanted to hear. I love it! Some people just don't understand. You
obviously do.
Yes, achievement of top end was on the way back, the day after the
bag-eating incident. Without the bag I felt like I could go a little
faster. :)) Who knows, maybe one could eek out 3-5 more mph without the
hard bags, eh? :) Then again, the hard bags make for good rear frame
sliders.
I did learn a bike can be steered somewhat with the rear tire locked up.
Last time my rear tire locked up (unexpectedly) I went straight through a
corner on North Carolina Route 28, a couple miles out of Deals Gap. I
didn't know the bike would steer with a locked up rear tire, then again I
didn't bother trying to steer when I went through that corner. It appears
that one can survive rear wheel lockup on the Autobahn if you're mostly
going straight.
