RE: [ST] Closing Triumph Dealers/Parts

I think I may have been missunderstood here a little.
I love my sprint very much. Its been trouble free for
almost 40K mi. Its a great bike, it does everything
well. I also understand that a major failure will put
any make on the trailer. Its the minor stuff thats got
me concerned. Clutch cables, sprockets and things of
that nature.

I am highly concerned with availability of parts and
techs if needed. I noticed many UJM, HD and BMW
dealers, many having sportbikes. This might sound
minor to people that ride locally only but no so for
an aimless wanderer. I am pretty sure Im not gonna
"Stumble onto" a T dealer while wandering through
different states.

The ST rocks! Overall the best bike I have ever owned.
I will not part w/it, but. I can go to any large town
and buy HD, UJM, BMW parts all day long. I get
precious little time each year to get the hell out of
the Northwest and I dont want to spend it Sourcing and
shipping parts. Personally I would rather wait for the
UPS guy and use my ST than ride a UJM with their
excellent dealer coverage. The ST has something
special, spirit, charactor. Riding and touring is
pointless if the bike fails to be mood-altering.

I put between 50-100 miles daily on my sprint just
locally, this baby will not be collecting dust. The
BMW GS is the only other bike I know of that makes me
feel like I do when Im on my ST. BMW GS is fugly as
hell and more $$ to buy but parts are readily
avialable and not to pricy.

Triumph rocks, there is a Triumph model coming to the
market I want very badly. Sadly, Triumph cannot have
any more of my $$ until I start seeing dealers
sprouting up instead of closing down. The only
practical choice is to jump the fence to a make that I
can actualy get parts/service for away from home. The
ST, however, will remain my daily rider.

As I said, Triumph helped me decide to buy a BMW this
winter. This is not to say that I dont LOVE my ST. Its
impractical for me to buy another Triumph for the
above reasons. Im not happy about it but this is the
reality forged by Triumph themselves.
