As far as spare parts for the road...

If you are the cautious type and you haven't changed to the metal fuel quick disconnect, you might consider carrying a spare one of those, too. Mine broke less than 100 miles after returning from a long distance trip this spring. I was that close to being stranded, as I didn't bring a spare with me on my trip.
