I believe a more accurate method is to use the highway mile markers. Reset
odometer at marker and drive 10 miles, stopping exactly at the 10 mile
marker (or 11 if 10 isn't convenient). Cross multiply mm number with
difference in mile reading and get a very accurate measure. This method
will take into effect tire-to-road dynamics.
