I had 2 scrapes just like that on my '99 Sprint ST.  One before Race Teching 
the front end, one after.  They're about an inch apart.  My current '02 
ST(Race Teched front end before turning one mile) also has a bit of a scrape 
on it.  It's never dragged hard enough to upset either bike, not even on a 
track as bad as Gateway Intl, heh
