Yeah but if you look at the swingarm in the picture, it's in the corner where the adjusting end begins.  That is not hollow.

I definitely could tap our swing arm, but I figure
it's hollow inside there and not sure it would bear
all the weight as opposed a designated threaded spot
in the swingarm that a manufacturer has left
specifically for the addition of spools, that's my
worry, ya know?
