RE: [ST] Tire cupping/engine buzz

>> The tread blocks will show an uneven, stepped pattern to the following
portion, with the leading edge considerably higher in badly cupped
examples.<<

Ok, I can see that my front tire is a little cupped, though not bad.

I tried a few tests on my ride to/from work today to see if I could isolate
the problem. Riding at a speed where I was feeling the buzz, I let off the
throttle and disengaged the clutch. The buzz went away. Re-engage the
clutch and roll on the throttle, the buzz is back. This seems to indicate
that it isn't the tires.

Then, at speed again, I disengaged the clutch, but kept on the throttle,
trying to keep a steady 4k RPM. Major buzz, worse than with the clutch
engaged. And the buzz gets worse with higher RPMs.

This seems to exonerate the chain, and implicate just the engine. The
transmission seems to do a fair job of dampening the buzz.

Does my logic add up? Anyone else try the revving thing and see if there is
a non-trivial buzz?

Thanks,
  - Dave
