[ST] Valve wear....NOOOOOOOOO
- Subject: [ST] Valve wear....NOOOOOOOOO

ok 40Kmi, I just had the valves adjusted, they were
pretty tight. I was told that the shims that were used
indicate significant wear. Where do the miles go with
the daily driver. I have been so busy with intense
school and homework that I literally have overlooked
the service. Enough excuses. I have caused a problem
with my otherwise meticulously cared for machine.
How much time does it take to remove the head, I will
likely do this myself next winter or when I can get a
fill-in bike to ride while this one is down. I have a
full snap on stack lacking only triumph specific
tools, I have shop space for it. What should it cost
for the valves and a machine shop to cut the valve
seats and install the valves.....anything else I
should be looking out for here. Maybe I should buy a
salvage bike w/the later engine and use this engine
for a really angry log splitter!
Thanks for any wisdom here.
