McMaster-Carr appears to have locknuts in 1/4 NPT in Zinc-plated steel:

Anyone know where I can find a half dozen 1/4"-18 NPT nuts???  The
smallest I've found, that are metal, is 1/2".  Anything smaller is
nylon.  I need metal.
