RE: [ST] re: Fuel fitting recall

Actually, Peter has been quite polite, even complimentary. I do feel
that he is not as cognizant of the impact of the internet and it's
ability to foster both rumor and fact as he might be. The repeated
statement (on this group) that the replacement fuel fittings might be
plastic rather than the metal as plainly stated in the recall is a good
example. A missive from Newnan occasionally would help to expose such
ignorance.

The majority of Triumph problems lie with dealers who treat the marque
as a red-headed step child. I would imagine they are also the one's who
manhandled the tanks to break the connections. With 5 bikes and over
70,000 combined miles, no broken fittings. I'm happy with my service
from Palm Beach Triumph and they never fail to have a good word for both
the bikes and the company. When I replaced a clutch cable that was
later recalled, they rebated me. It is work like that that has made
them one of the largest dealers in the US.

If you have a dealer who doesn't measure up, complain to Newnan. One
email won't do much good, but repeated, documented and polite complaints
should bear fruit.

Be well, ride well.

Don't expect any "customer service" from ToA's customer service
"leader". If you do hear from him, it won't be polite.
