Had this same thing happen on an old SWM trials bike.  One of the 
internal baffles in the silencer broke loose and would run just fine at 
slow speeds, but when rpms picked up (like a hill climb) it would die.  
Offset hole in the baffle would effectively block the exhaust gases from 
exiting the muffler.  Took a little while to find that one too.
