I use the Cortech Sport tailbag on my RS, and love the
thing.  I've carried my little 12" Apple iBook in it a
number of times, and it has worked well for that
purpose.  It's a small laptop, but there's plenty of
room for it even with the bag unexpanded.  The bag
opening would probably be the limiting factor, but you
should be able to fit any standard-sized laptop
without any trouble.

I don't have vast experience with soft bags, but the
Cortech looks good (IMO), works well, is well-built,
and holds a surprising amount of stuff if you try.  I
don't have the soft panniers to go with, but they look
like they'd be well integrated.
