As I understand it the problem is that dirt build up causes the
pistons/seals to stick and be pulled back into the calipers when the
lever is released. This leaves a gap between the pads and rotor which
must be taken up every time you brake. I assume that keeping the pistons
all the way out over night allows the seal to slowly move to its correct
position so the pistons do not get pulled back into the calipers when
the lever is released.

Most master cylinders are self bleeding so if you had air in the system
it would also help with that.

I am going to try this.
