What if I changed the tire size to do the same thing?  As long as you don't
mess with the internals, I'm sure you'll be legal.

Rod,

Tampering with the odometer, even if you were technically making it "more
correct", is most likely a violation of several state and federal laws and
likely would cost you a pretty penny if discovered.
