Jack:
Unscrew the nut that clamps the shifter to it's spline (shaft). Clean and mark the shaft
and shifter with a "sharpie" pen. Remove the shifter arm from its spline and replace it on
the spline one or two notches above the mark. Try the shifter with your new boots on. Keep
moving it until the clearance is correct. Adjust the linkage as necessary to make up for
any decreased/extra play. Tighten all fasteners and you're done.
