I didn't bother with one but I imagine that it would be good for keeping
out all that crud that I have to periodically clean out of my fairing.

Tank protector. I have one and yes they are quite functional. You should
see how scratched up mine is after 30,000+ miles of use. The main source
of the scratches is the plastic belt buckle on my rain suit.

I wouldn't. The bike is garaged. Besides, it's a British bike, it was
made for $h!tty weather.

Plastic bags work just as well.

IMHO the Givi's are too utilitarian looking. They look like equipment
cases that were rigged to fit the bike. I prefer the Triumph ones. OTOH
the bags on the '05 ST are not very attractive

A soft fob is much more effective, cheaper and a lot less cheesy looking.
But if I could easily afford my own helicopter then I would get some of
those accessories that seem pointless.
