Hey Peter,
Nikwax www.nikwax-usa.com makes some very effective wash-in and
spray-on waterproofing products. I treat my Triumph Aspen suit at
least once a season and stay mostly dry even in monsoons!  They're
available at outdoor stores like REI Co-op.

My choices:
Best budget suit I've seen - Fieldsheer
Money no object - Aerostich.
