[ST] slip-ons

I'm considering adding a CF can to my 01 ST and saw a used Two Brothers
slip-on on ebay for a reasonable price. I just happend to be at my Triumph
dealer for some other reason and mentioned to him what I had in mind. All of
a sudden he stared at me as if he saw a ghost. "You can upload only Triumph
can information, so forget about anything else."
Is he discouraging me for a good reason or is he trying to sell me an OEM
can?
