Absolutely, Jeremy Clarkson is somewhat revered in this country and
is certainly no fool (except with his love of the Ford Focus!). The
video states what everyone knows - a performance car driven to the
limit will out-corner a bike every time. Most car drivers do not
drive their cars to 50% of its limit, let alone own/drive performance
cars to their full potential. The misconception among bikers that
they can beat a car is based on this view. Most of us who ride bikes
with the performance of a Hinkley 995c triple are capable of
exploiting that performance to a greater degree than most car drivers
will attempt but even a 2ltr GTI could give most of us run for our
money if it was driven well on a bendy country road with an
indifferent or damp road surface.
