The benefit is that you won't lose your house and your savings if 
something goes wrong and someone decides to sue you because of it.  
Yes, we hate to think that there are some motorcyclists who might sue 
you because they put themselves in the hospital (or in the dirt) on one 
of your rides, but it does happen.  If not the motorcyclist himself, it 
could be the spouse of the rider.  Or, it could be the person who gets 
hit in a crosswalk.  Or, it could be the person in the car that your 
motorcycle hit.

The list goes on, but I think you'll probably get the point.  It's an 
unfortunate fact of life in modern America: There are plenty of 
ambulance-chasing lawyers who'd love to work up a grieving relative 
into suing the bejezus out of ya.  If you're in any way responsible for 
a ride, it's best to have insurance coverage.  Working with the TSRA 
provides that coverage, assuming you follow the rules that are dictated 
to us by the AMA and their insurer.
