The factory springs are progressive rate; I'd spend my money elsewhere.
I put Race Tech constant rate springs in my front forks. They are
fantastic. Most brake dive is gone and I have excellent stability
without harshness. Harshness comes from the damping, not the spring.
It was a very easy change. The hardest part was lifting the front wheel
off of the floor. I have not needed to change the damping fluid. It
matches a 1.0 kg/mm spring nicely. If you can cut the stock spring (or
have it done) you can cut off the close coils and have roughly a 1.0
spring (or a little more) for little $$$. You will need to make a
spacer from tubing to take up the space the close coils occupied.
