[ST] oil filterwrench discussion

<<
Just a FWIW. I switched to K&N filters because they have a 17mm nut on the
bottom. Makes in and out a lot easier, IMO. Just a precaution. K&N
doesn't have a good pipe thread cutter. My first filter was tight and when
tightened to torque spec it did not seal. Don'tcha love oil all over the
floor. Retightened by feel while being careful not to overtighten and all
was right with the world.

Had a similar experience with the last K&N oil filter I tried. The threaded
hole was visibly oversized(found this after trying it), and although it
would thread on, it wouldn't seal. I don't love oil all over my floor(yeah,
I know, you were using something called sarcasm, but I'm still bitter about
this event :) ). Infact it's confirmed my belief that I will be only
investing in OEM replacement filters, because they haven't proven to have
quality control issues.
