[ST] Bob Nixon Update

From another list I'm on. Outa Phoenix comes this...

Holy Moly... good news...

The hospital staff is shocked. Surgery went great, BOTH feet were repaired.
His feet are better than they thought.

Rather than putting him back in a bed, he's sitting in a special chair
designed
for comfort, though he is still restrained.

Due to the amount of sedation, trauma, etc., he's slips off into his own world
for several hours at a time, and he's not coming out of it as often as he
should, but they expect this condition to improve over the next few days. His
disposition is greatly improved as his "meanness" has diminished to almost
nil.
However, he is still a little disoriented, so he is still prone to
outbursts.

Vital signs are excellent. The pacemaker is out. The infection has improved
significantly. They anticipate moving him to the 6th floor, completely
bypassing ICU. He could have a visitation schedule by Sunday. The family is
reserving the first visitation opportunities for Jack & Kelly as Bob is very
interested in finding out WTF happened.

They are already talking about starting range-of-motion rehab for 3-6
hours/day
in about a week.

It appears that he is finally out of the woods. He has a long road to
recovery,
but the old fart appears to be back!

It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize that you are in a
hurry.
