I think it was in 2002 that Triumph switched from Regina O-ring chains
(crap) to D.I.D. X-Ring chains (good).

I am currently running an RK XSO, and like it better than I thought I would.
I had put a D.I.D. 530VZM Gold on, but miscalculated the length. When I
mounted new Metzeler Sportec M-1 tires, I found the chain was too short.
Being in a hurry to get my bike back on the road, I got the RK Xso chain
from the dealer I'd bought the tires from. I hadn't heard of them before but
the rating seemed good, and although it wasn't pretty gold color, it works.
I have been rather pleased that it seems to stay lubricated longer than the
D.I.D.
