David,
You don't mention that width is a concern for you, but a wide foot
has ruled out nearly every manufacturer's boots for me.  Happily, I
found a relatively new Alpinestar model called Roam that fits me. 
(Mostly) waterproof liner, flex panels in the instep/Achilles areas,
velcro closure, low-priced.  Hope this helps someone.
