Re: [ST] Riding boots - sport touring

WOW, I never thought I'd see the day. Finally a discussion that has more
'right' answers than the tire thread :)))

My main suggestion would be to find a boot that fits yer foot well. No, I'm
not being sarcastic, different feet, different boots. I have a fairly short
wide foot. I found the Triumph Explorer boot to be supremely comfortable,
waterproof, and saved my tootsies in a 60 mph get-off (lowside). They even
came through relatively unscathed, save for the left toe ground off a bit.
After four years I retired them from riding but still wear them as street
boots, they are that comfortable. I recently bought a pair of Alpinstars
"Roam" and like them quite well. More ankle support than the Explorer, and
not 'quite' as comfortable walking around, but still way more comfy than
'race' type boots. They have been completely waterproof in an all day
soaking rain.

I must also say that the Oxtar and Sidi and Prexport offerings look quite
good as well. I suppose there is no 'wrong' answer here, except maybe
"cowboy boots" :))
