RE: False neutral/using oil? (was RE: [ST] Chain / Sprockets - where tobuy, what to buy)

My '02 RS has 7000 miles on it.  If I get in a parade-like situation and
the coolant temp gets up to 220-ish for a while, it will burn oil.  The
'02s start the fan at 218F.  I used TuneBoy to set the fan temps lower and
it hasn't been hot like that again.  Any of this sound familiar?

Also noticed it looks like I'm starting to use oil.  Was about 1/2 quart
low before the trip so topped off to the upper line, on return from the
trip level is just under the upper line, mebbe a 1mm difference.  Gonna
have to keep an eye on it but at about 35k don't think it should be using
oil, never has in the past.  Thoughts?
