Welcome aboard!  You'll find good people and good info here,

I took a similar path, cruiser (Honda Shadow) to sport bike (Honda Hawk & 
Yamaha FZR1000) to sport touring ('02 Sprint ST).  You won't regret the 
switch!  I hung onto the Shadow and FZR thinking I'd ride them too but it 
didn't happen.  Sold both of them this spring.  In fact, I've got the wife 
to follow me down the path too.  She bought a Monster 800 for play and I'm 
working on her to get a BMW F650 for touring.   Now all we need is for 
somebody to buy her Magna.
