Yup, I caught the impending failure on my '01ST, the dealer (Eurosport
IN Fort Worth) had the new part to me in days. Took me 5 minutes to put on.
From what I could tell, the old part had a metal bearing on the end,
which was the cause of the damaged strands, where the new parts had a
plastic bearing.
