[ST] RE: clutch cable

Neil,

I don't know if things had changed over the years, but on earlier models the
clutch cable for an RS has the metal sleeve with the bend in it on the
opposite end of a cable for an ST. Otherwise, they are the same.

Myself, shortly after getting my 2000 RS in March 2000, I bought an ST cable
and rerouted it for a MUCH easier clutch pull. I just took one look at the
way Triumph routed the RS's cable back up under the frame and decided it was
better to have a straighter line to the clutch vs. not seeing it pass
through the opening in the RS body panel. It works GREAT, and I don't even
notice the cable passing through. (No one else has ever noticed it either.)

I then put the original cable into my Triumph Tank Bag, wrapping it around
the bottom inside. It takes up very little room, and is always there in case
I need it.

Is the clutch cable for the RS exactly the same as for the ST (let's say for
2002 onward, although it could easily have been the same for the earlier
motor), and if so, does anyone happen to have the Triumph part number handy?

Thanks in advance
