I called a triumph dealer out of curiosity to see what a regulator, 
which I believe to be the problem and an alternator would cost.  800.00 
for an alternator!!!!!! and 138.00 for a regulator!!!!  I cannot even 
believe that.  How in  the hell can anyone justify pricing an ordinary 
average part at 800.00.  I have always been sickened by Triumphs parts 
pricing and this just put it over the edge.  I am a die hard Triumph 
rider and fan, but this will definitely play a big part in the bike I 
buy next season.  These are the times when I wish it were possible to 
find what else denso uses this alternator in and buy it from another 
parts source. The other alternative is to try and track down used parts 
which is also near impossible, but I'll start tonight.  Thanks for 
letting me rant and rave.
