Adding the second hose probably does NOT double the volume. Surely the
crossover and its hose would be removed from the system? The crossover
hose is probably not much shorter than a full top-to-bottom hose, so
maybe 15-30% added to the system volume?
Having twin hoses running the same distance may have advantages in terms
of brake balance too, so that 15% of extra expansion loss could be
offset by the fact that both sides are seeing the same line pressure.
