Then that explains why I got over 10,000mi on the 100X's.  I stuck with the
user manual 36 front, 42 rear which I think are the max. or at least close
enough to max.

I guess I'll continue that trend with my new Pilot Road's.

In other words, lowering your tire pressure will have exactly the 
opposite effect of what you're seeking.  Keeping your tire pressure at 
the max allowed (the value is printed on the sidewall) is the best way 
to stretch the life of your tire.
