Cold tires, wet pavement, possible slick white lines, passing through
oil at the stop sign; all recipes for drastically reducing your
traction. Unless you have a lot of dirt bike experience or you are a
GP racer, realize that under those conditions you need to be real
gentle with the throttle, and try to keep the bike upright as much as
possible.

If you do get into a sliding situation again and you can keep
yourself from panicking, remember, don't get off the throttle. That
way you may save it or you may low side, but either option is much
better than a high side.
