Re: [ST] HyperPro Progressive Fork Springs (fwd)

A suggestion on the spring compression thing. The spring pushes between the
spring seat at the bottom and the preload adjustor at the top. If you can
reduce the spring length then the spring will float between these same two
points. There are smaller car spring compressors that can grab the coils
and compress them using scews/bolts. If you are careful and use a pair of
those compressiors you should be able to relieve the pressure off the
preload collar so that you can remove the retainer. (Don't forget to take
out that set screw first). Should not be that difficult and I believe you
can rent those compressors at an AutoZone or similar car store. To put the
spring on, just compress the new spring on the bench and reverse the removal
process.
