[ST] Shameless Plug - Need Job to Increase Contribution

TO Doug Bailey (and listers):

I would donate more toward your 10/10000 ride, Doug, if I were employed (I
quit a good job to go to graduate school full-time. Time to get back to
work). So, here's the shameless plug...if I get a solid job offer that pays
at or near what I was used to getting, in time for your ride, then I will be
commit a minimum of $1000 to the cancer ride.

How can everyone else help??

Well...you can e-mail me OFF-LIST with your ideas for business, industry, or
government contacts who might want to hear from someone with my experience.
Yes, even if you get a name and phone number from your best friend's sister
s best friend who knows someone who might know about a job...).

Here are my search criteria: I am focused on the west or southwest U.S.,
preferably in New Mexico or certain parts of Arizona - although I will
consider all of the western or southwestern states.

Here's a brief experience/education summary: Twenty years human resources
experience; will soon have a Master's in Organizational Psychology; have led
major strategic organizational change efforts...). Will work for a company
or as a contract consultant.

Okay...I've got my fingers crossed. My greatest motivation, although it
probably sounds suspect, is to be able to contribute more to Doug's ride,
toward cancer research. My apologies, in advance, for straying from the
motorcycle topic - but the cancer fundraiser is important to me and I'd like
to donate more than I already have.

It seems I have to answer a number of medical inquiries for various reasons
and so have come up with a standard response to the drug question. When
asked what kind of drugs I take I respond with "I'm a recreational user of
chemo and regularly take 4 kinds" We can have fun even when going through
deep water. I greatly appreciate what you're doing Doug. After being told I
am terminal and can only depend on research finding a way, I very much
appreciate the efforts of people like you.

You ride 10,000 miles in 10 days and I'll donate $50, my friend. Never mind
that. You ride what you can. The donation has been made. And, if 10 people
from this list match I'll give another $50! Thank you for what you're doing,
Doug.

Praying for a miracle, and living in the meantime!
James '02 ST

PS. No, I'm not depending on research for a cure, but rest in knowing that
God is ever aware of what is going on in my body. He knows every star, every
spec of space dust, and all the space in-between, and even how many head,
eyebrow, eyelash, underarm, etc. hairs I've lost doing chemo (a lot! :). May
all have a most blessed Sunday.

Hey All,

If I'll ride 10,000 miles can you make a donation?

I've decided to do a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society this summer.
I'm going to ride a 10/10ths ride (10,000 miles in 10 days) for ACS July
2-11. It has been fours years of long distance riding on the ST building up
to this. I'm an experience LD rider and know this will be difficult to say
the least, but last years 8 day, 7300 mile ride was a good measure for the
10/10ths ride My goal for the 10,000 mile ride is to raise $10,000. With
this high goal I'll be asking the motorcycle industry and motorcycling
community for donations.

Of course I'm covering all expenses of the trip so that all donations go to
ACS. The local chapter has given me a web page with their Relay for Life
pages so that you can make online donations directly to ACS at www.acsevents
org/relay/in/allencounty. Select Sponsor a Participant and input my name,
Doug Bailey. Or if you would prefer to send a check it can be made out to
American Cancer Society and mailed to American Cancer Society, 111 E. Ludwig
Road, Suite 105, Fort Wayne, IN, 46825, Attn: Carmen Parker. On your check
note that it is for Doug's Motorcycle Ride.

I want to keep this short here so if you have any questions about my ride,
why I'm doing this, or the American Cancer Society please contact me off
list at Dougthe2WF@xxxxxxxx

For those of you annoyed that I'm asking for donations on the ST/RS list,
well, I'm sorry. With the enormity of the ride and the amount I'm wanting to
raise I need to get all the generosity from the motorcycle community as I
can. I have a 2000 ST, that will turn 100K miles this year, and have been a
lister since, I just don't send much anymore.

Thank you for your help.

Doug Bailey
