My '01 has always run very well on 89 octaine and I can't notice any
difference when I run 91. It runs 'OK' with no pinging on 87 octaine which
is the only choice in some small rural towns. When I ride in these areas, I
buy 91 octaine when it's avaialble and refill every 100 miles or so to keep
the blend around 89.
